Ok, I know my blog says that it’s rants on video games, but I just don’t hate enough things. So this is not a rant:
I love steam……. No, I really love steam. Some people hate the idea that some company controls all their games. Not me. Because valve controls all my games I have more freedom that ever. First, the portability, I own over 60 games on steam, not counting DLC and over 40 classic games that start as one. If I owned physical copies of those games, I would need two or three large CD cases to hold them. That’s not very helpful when you live in CA and are going to college in MI. With steam, I just bring my laptop and download the games I want whenever I want. Now for the second thing: the deals. Every single day steam as has a least one game on sale, and it’s not just the lame games. I bought Oblivion with all the DLC for $5. Every day! With the ability to down load your game wherever and whenever you want and the great deals there is no better PC gaming store, online or off. But that’s just my opinion.
P.S. COD: Black Ops is still $60 on steam.
A quick update for my large group of 0 readers, I haven’t posted in awhile because I have a large paper to write.
This post is to proclaim my hatred of the newest Elder Scrolls game. first off the lame graphics, I mean come on was this game made in 2001!? Then I’m going to talk about the Stupid combat……… Just kidding, I actually really want to buy it. :)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 came out like two days ago, and it costs $60. Ok, cool, lots of games cost $60 when they first come out. So today I was on steam and I saw this:
Are you kidding me!? The next freak’n game is out and you still haven’t lowered the price!? You may think “But hey Black Ops has all that DLC you’re getting right?” Nope. If you want the DLC it’ll cost you another $60. So…… $120 for last year’s game? What the heck!? Call of duty may be the most popular game on the market, but that doesn’t mean I’m willing to pay double the price for an older game. All I ask is that when the next game comes out they lower the price on the old one. If Call of Duty wasn’t such a good game, after this I wouldn’t even think of buying MW3.
I am disgusted with the way video game developers are disregarding their roots. I hate how many game series that got their start on the PC, are now going console only. I feel as though PC gamers are being ignored. Instead of the newest Halo, we are expected to play Farmville or internet Hearts. It’s like game Developers think PCs are the gaming device of the past. The most recent example to come to mind is Rayman Origins. What the heck!? I feak’n loved the ORIGINAL game on the PC. What, You guys don’t care about your ORIGINAL fans!? They call it “origins” yet they leave their origins to rot. I guess the point of this post is as a PC gamer I am feeling left behind.
